Screen Resolution Statistics
Not every computer that displays your site will have the same screen resolution. The screen resolution will determine how your web site will appear on a particular screen.
The standard screen resolution several years ago was 800 x 600. Today, with the introduction of wide screen monitors more and more people are using them. From the chart below we can see the impact of this. 1024 x 768 is now the most popular screen resolution.
Most companies on the web today are moving toward web sites designed to be viewed in 1024 x 768. This could cause a few Internet viewers to to scroll back and forth across the screen to view the entire page, but the inconvenience is usually outweighed by the number of people that have wide screen monitors.
